Honk if you're willing to base your vote on what Marion Barry says. |
Honk also if you are compelled to do the opposite of what Marion Barry says. |
Don't forget that it was Gray who got the Council to take Barry's committee away from him. Guess he's not sucking up to Barry. Rather it looks like it's the other way around. Old useless hack politician (Barry) struggling to stay relevant. Good luck with that. |
LOL, so does that discount Alice Rivlin's support for Gray? Really that is such a non-issue. |
The OP has no idea who Alice Rivlin is, or her importance to the city. OP is simply playing the boogey man part. in a bad movie. BOO, I am really scared OP |
According to the City Paper or Post, I can't keep them straight anymore, Fenty wanted Barry's endorsement. When asked, Fenty's campaign said no comment. In addition, anyone who hangs out with Ron Moten, is really scary. I'll actually take Barry over Ron. Barry is brilliant, just dumb. Ron is just a street thug and the Mayor is happy to hang out with him. |
|
He is more than a street thug. Moten is a convicted felon who has served a prison term. And, apparently he is Fenty's ace boy to buy votes in the poorer sections of Wards 7 and 8. |
Ironic that the NW Current has come out and endorsed Gray, principally on the issues of city finances and cronyism.
If this sways voters west of the park, this will be a landslide for Gray. |
I don't know how many readers the Current has, but from what I've heard of their endorsement process (from DW who was a reporter for the publisher's prior newspapers and from Kwame Brown, who went through the process -- successfully), it's a grueling experience whose result deserves to be given some weight. |
I would assume that the Gray campaign will target a mailing of the endorsement to key residential blocks in Wards 2 and 3.
This will have the effect of making many voters re-consider their support for the Mayor. as an anecdotal note, I have neighbors who have Fenty signs who are actually voting for Gray. If my neighbors and friends in Ward 3 are any litmus, this will not be a close election for a Mayor who should have been able to sleepwalk to a second term. |
Ditto in Ward 4. |
Why on earth would anyone do that? It's not like someone roughs you up if you have the wrong campaign sign. So what's the point of advertising for the candidate who you want to lose? |
Fear of retribution and/or yes fear of being roughed up. Have you seen the canvassers driving vans from Maryland campaigning for Fenty? These are not neighborhood volunteers.
Read the notes on neighborhood Yahoo Groups describing the uber-aggressive tactics of these guys. |
