Vision and hearing screening in MCPS

Do all elementary schools screen each student? When does it happen? How frequently - in Kindergarten or in another year or each year? Do they -school/district/county health whoever is screening - followup with families to make sure students who need appropriate aids get them?

My kid had it one time in ES. Other kid (different school) never. Eye Dr was surprised the school tested. He signed the form.we sent it back

Our son failed both the vision and the hearing screening at end of eighth grade. We had both subsequently tested at relevant specialists but did not fill out the form that the MS nurse said we had to return to the MS because we knew he was changing schools to the HS. We never heard anything else from the school.

When MCPS did my hearing test my thick hair wasn't pushed away from my ears. I funked the test and they thought I was hard of hearing.

Take your kid for testing as theirs isn't accurate and lame. They said my kid needed glasses/new glasses when they were just at the eye doctor and had brand new glasses on when tested. They didn't ask the child or look at the glasses. They demanded I bring in proof of new glasses and eye visit and I said no look at their face.
