| I know this is a long shot but anyone know of any girls’ clubs looking for 2009 players? My DD is on Varsity for her HS and hoping to play more year round if possible. TIA! |
| What area? |
| My guess is most coaches will take a girl who would be a top 4 or 5 player on their team at any time. Just contact the club/coach for the team your daughter wants to play on and ask to train with the team for an assessment. |
| McLean White- contact them. They have a mixed 2008/2009 team this year. |
| Great, TY! We are in Maryland for what it’s worth. |
| there are definitely teams with open spots. where do you live and where do you want to play? |
| Scroll down and click the appropriate age group: https://msisoccer.org/classic-tryout-notices/ |
| Vienna 2009 Phoenix has a relatively small roster. |
Not OP, but is MSI parent-lead? |
MSI Classic is a league between rec and travel. The teams are independent from MSI (MSI runs the league) and can be led by parent volunteers or a club with a “professional” coach (eg, Juventus, MD Fusion, Brit Am, ROSA, etc). Volunteer run teams also sometimes hire professional coaches. You get to choose which teams to try out for, so you can factor all this into your decision. |
What high school does she play at and does she start? |
She wants to play year round then she needs to stay in Maryland. |
| DC Soccer would also likely take a good player. They have players in Chevy Chase/Bethesda but any further north the practices would be really far. You could probably just wait until the fall high school soccer season is over and reach out then as well. |
| Liverpool DC Metro has a decent 2009 team with plenty of HS players. Practices in Rockville/Gaithersburg/Germantown area. |
