Is there anything I can wear to a wedding that won't look dowdy?

I hate high heels and feel like I'm going to break my ankle when I wear them. At summer weddings I can get away with a nice sandal. Any ideas for a shoe I can wear with a longish silky dress to a fall evening wedding and not look dowdy??

I love Badgley Mischka flats. So comfy yet so pretty. I find them for a good price on Poshmark.

I LOVE round-toed flats. If they're new and good quality, they do not look dowdy at all. But then I dress with an East Asian sensibility, and we tend to go for feminine and cute, not sharp.

Dressy flats. Lots of options right now. You can find embellished or plain or metallic, round or pointy toe, with a mary jane strap or without, or with an ankle strap or without. The flat mary janes are trending right now, but if you find those too childish, the pointy ones are classic and everywhere.

You can do sandals in the fall and winter. Ones like this would be pefect. https://www.amazon.com/Amazon-Essentials-Womens-Nola-Heeled/dp/B08LPV9BZK

Or more of a nude pump - these are not ankle breakers. https://www.everlane.com/products/womens-day-heel-burnt-light-taupe

The mesh flats that are in now might look great.
