Plus ladies - That little bit of stomach showing at the bottom of a swimsuit, is that the proper fit?

I have a swimsuit that can either stretch to cover it or be pulled up to reveal it. By it I am referencing the end of my belly. The edges of skin.

Do you mean the outside of your hips? I see zero belly in these on piece swimsuits.

It’s the space in both pink suits that shows on my side belly/hip maybe a better description. Like the pink one in the center and side of the one at the top.

Yes, that is the proper fit for that style of swimsuit. That isn’t a part of my body that I like to display, so I don’t wear that cut of swimsuit.

OP I hear you. Yes, the two pics at the bottom (less so the one on top) are definitely showing the bottom of their tummies. Even on skinny women, this is a thing right now.

I think it looks terrible. It is somehow part of the current trend of wearing high hipped swimsuits which is supposed to give the illusion of longer legs. Even if somehow you are giving this illusion, you're also giving the non-illusion of an ill-fitting, uncomfortable looking suit, that in some cases creates an eye trick that counteracts the long leg illusion (because now you're creating weird looking horizontal stripes from both the swim suit edge and the skin fold). This is a thing no matter what your body size.

We live on the beach and DH and I both marvel and the weirdness and unflattering nature of this style.

I have faced this issue, and I chose a tummy control suit that ends at the natural leg crease line.

The longer leg look could work for the right person and right suit but it's better not to draw attention to flaws in that area. You will feel more confident in a suit that covers things you want to cover.

PP. The top coral suit fits better than center pink suit.

That is how the suits are cut. The look on a toned trim body id different than on the models shown. It's the
equivalent of a midriff roll in a two piece. IMO, certainly for me, those high cut thighs are to be avoided.
I am positive about looking as good as I can and bulging out isn't optimal.

Fit to the crease (or longer into "boyshort" length) or add a loose short skirt at the waist.

I wouldn't call that the belly. It's showing hip, and on some women, hips have heft!

If you don't want those to show, then wear a lower cut swimsuit bottom.
Anonymous
no it's not a proper fit.

To me that is similar to underboob in a two piece which I don't think is flattering on anyone, but some women must like it.

+1. The center pink just looks too small.

These suits (especially the pink) has a high cut leg. These are best on a thinner person. Choose a different leg cut.

I noticed this recently when I was browsing the summersalt sale online. Even the small models had that skin/tummy sticking out. I'm all for body positivity, but it's not a part of my particular body that I feel positive about, so it's a pass for me.
