Block Schedules

Just curious if APS middle schools are still following the block schedules? I haven’t seen a change, but am curious about my son having PE as period 2. His poor fellow students and teachers every day, if he has it every day!!!

How does this work at DHMS? Is it even periods on A days and odd periods on B days?

Yes. They call it red, gold, blue days, something like that but same idea as A/B days. Wednesday is all of the classes and oddly seems like my kids' least favorite day. It moves around a little when there are school days off, but the school is good about sending you updates on that. If you're an incoming 6th grade family, the counselor who will be assigned to those kids is really great. I'm jealous. ; )

It’s should just be 2-3x per week.

My kids loved having a second period because they could go to school in PE clothes and quickly change shirts after PE. Really wasn’t that big of a deal. It was worse when they had it 5th- Every single day. Also in the morning it’s much cooler as they spend most of their time outside.
