This went on for months and months before someone at the school realized the currency was fake.
Apparently the printer the students were using was very high quality and it was difficult for the school staff to tell the difference. Does anyone remember this story? Did the students avoid getting in trouble because of their ages? |
| Little counterfeiters, eh? I hope they know it's a long prison sentence if they do that as adults... |
From what I remember it happened in one of the nicer areas of Fairfax County. |
| Decades ago I got a counterfeit ten from my high school cafeteria. Back in 2004. |
|
Nobody remembers?
I think one of the students had a high profile parent. |
SLHS? |

Don’t know about this particular case.
But selling Girl Scout cookies in 2022, someone paid one of the girls with a fake 20, bought off Amazon.com. We only found it later that night when tallying everything up. We googled it, and that fake money off Amazon was a thing for a while. Ripping off the Girl Scouts just lowered my opinion of humanity a little bit more. |
This was the money: https://www.kgw.com/article/news/why-is-amazon-selling-fake-money/283-9bdb4e67-a52a-42c5-9a2c-4d3577f09c03 I think Amazon has hopefully cracked down on this BS. |
| Since school food is STILL terrible tasting, I find it sad that kids would be moved to commit a crime just to eat there…..🙁 |
