How much would a reasonable suit cost for a college student? Thank you. |
For late high school/early college, I like the Kenneth Cole Techni-Cole suits at Macy's. They come in a full range of sizes, the materials look nice (though they are synthetic), and they are on sale 50% off all the time.
For this age, I didn't see the point of Nordstrom's or J Crew (more $$). Men's Wearhouse and a local suit store had nothing nice at any price. Cost on sale about $250. https://www.macys.com/shop/product/kenneth-cole-reaction-mens-techni-cole-slim-fit-suit-separates?ID=11743247 |
Not inexpensive, but we love love love Alton Lane when they need something special but can’t travel to get it. |
Zara. Fashionable and resonably-priced. |
Macy's, was like $250 I think? |
Ive also had good luck at Macys... |
I love this suggestion, thanks! Not the OP but thinking I may get my DS a new suit as he's a rising fourth year at UVA (and they have a showroom in Cville). Anyone have similar suggestions for DD for work clothes? She had a relatively professional internship but still struggled with clothes options a bit. Would also love to get her a nice pantsuit etc. She knows about Aritzia but she's a little bit of a harder fit. |
Another vote for Macy’s. DS got a lovely Calvin Klein suit which we had altered at a local dry cleaner. |
And yet another vote for Macy’s. My DS too got a great Calvin Klein suit for prom this past spring and will be bringing it to college this fall. |
Men’s Warehouse. Only place that could fit my tall skinny 18 year old. |
Book an appointment with Brunello Cucinelli. They have excellent suits for DC. |
only one answer here - Indochino in McLean -custom suits for $400 - life hack, you will thank me |
My son (rising sophomore) just got a suit tonight from Bonobos (Tysons Galleria). It is his 2nd suit from there -- very please with how they wear and travel |
