Best plastic surgeon for scar revision?

Since I was a child, I have had a large surgical scar on my belly that's about 5 inches long that I would like to get revised. The incision was stapled closed instead of stitched, so the scar healed in a jagged and lumpy manner with a shelf. What's a good plastic surgeon in the area for scar revision? Most don't have pictures of the procedure on their websites, so I look at the tummy tuck photos instead. Not all of the tummy tuck scars look great, which is fine when it would be below the bikini line, but my scar is not. Still, those scars are better than what I have now.

OP again. I am also considering traveling to NYC, which seems to have more surgeons specializing in scar revision.

I’m an operating room nurse who has worked with several plastic surgeons. All plastic surgeons are trained in scar revisions and are trained to suture in a way to minimize scars.

Many don’t advertise it as a stand alone procedure though. I also wouldn’t look at the scars from their before and after photos as those photos may be taken a few months after surgery and scars need a good year to fade. Unfortunately many patients get lost to follow up after a few months so surgeons tend to take the “ after” photos early in the healing process.

Find a good board certified plastic surgeon that you like and go with him. There’s no need to travel out of town for a scar revision.

OP here. Thank you so much for that info. I was wondering about it too, because the doctor in NYC posted amazing results 2 years after the procedure. Though I also hear about people complaining about their permanent tummy tuck scars.
