Federal contractor. Major proposal due next week. I’ll be working all weekend to finish it.

Sick of the crazy turnarounds for these things. I swear federal workers don’t realize the amount of effort it takes to pull these off in just 2 weeks.

Federal worker on the proposal review side. I also work weekends multiple times a year to handle what you’ll be submitting. I’ve been on both sides and don’t think one has it easier than the other.

How much are you paid for the occasional weekend work?

Teacher. Prepping for the start of school on Monday. (Weekend work during the school year is a regular thing. I remind myself about summer break so it never really bothers me to work on the weekend.)

I work every other weekend.
No sympathy for you. Weekend work is just part of my life. I make 65k as a first responder/police dispatcher. I’m willing to bet you make way more than I do.

Yeah, enlisted active duty. "work hours" are pretty much not a thing. Neither is work/life balance.

I work every weekend. Client made an insane demand (9am Monday weekly delivery of a report that includes information that is not delivered to us until 2am on Sunday; the automation on their side cannot be changed) and my boss agreed to it because this client keeps dangling a large project in front of us. We are never going to be awarded the project.
