46 and my mood around my period have been an issue for the last few years. The last few months my moods were dramatically worse and I've had the periods from hell with cramping, bloating, etc. and I was ready to go visit my obgyn (am already on an antidepressant) and explore HRT. On a whim, I purchased estroven after some research. It may be a placebo effect but my mood has been so much more level this month and my period/cramping/bloating was a non issue.
Keep in mind that during perimenopause, you will have a lot of months that are more normal (with your ovaries working and more normal hormones) interspersed with months that are not normal (where the ovaries aren’t working and off-hormone levels). So it might not be what you’re taking.
My gyno - who won’t prescribe HRT — recommended it. I tried it late in peri. My menopausal older sister tried it. Didn’t help either of us, but my Dr says that she has many patients who have benefited. That said, before I was in peri and in early peri, even just straight ashawaghanda tinctures would help my mood (and sex drive, ftm). That was in the estroven blend I tried, is it in yours? It could definitely be helping you!
My mother swore by it. It wasn’t helpful for me.
Not helpful for me. But good for you OP!
It helped me a lot - I was having a lot of hot flashes and wasn't able to sleep, and now as long as it's not 95 degrees out, I'm sleeping much better, and have fewer hot flashes in general.
how is your sex drive during period and if you are in pre-menopause state?
