Blocked question

Whenever I post something with a link to the Media Bias/Fact Check website, I am immediately blocked for 24 hrs. Why is this? And could you please unblock me? I will send my IP address.

Which one? How are you posting if you are blocked?

My guess is your preferred site isn’t credible

Yeah, basically I am tired of seeing your Media Bias / Fact Check stuff. If a news report is wrong, point out the error. Every media source has biases. I noticed that you never posted about the biases of right wing sources.

You know, if you had simply posted about that, then I would have known ahead of time that you don’t accept that site (even though it’s nonpartisan). Instead, I am given a 24 hour block for not even knowing that was now something you forbid.

Also, whenever a right-wing source is posted by someone else, other posters mock it for being right-wing - not for being factually inaccurate. So should I simply follow their lead and mock the left-wing source?

Regardless, I would appreciate you unblocking me since this was not trolling and was absolutely inadvertent.

I say leave the troll blocked

Not a troll. Posting something completely innocuous without knowing it had recently been banned is not trolling. But you know that.

Thanks for making clear what the answer to this question (bolded) is.

Try interacting with the substance of what people post. When you reflexively post that something is “biased” (and it’s usually not, plus the sources are almost always high factuality, something you never notice or care about) instead of interacting with the substance, you come off like a fragile little glass figurine, too afraid to see what happens outside your snow globe.

Jeff's site, Jeff's rules. Not difficult to understand.

Salon Magazine is LOW factuality and highly biased, which is what I was trying to post, complete with a nonpartisan source saying as much.

Also, would you say the same if someone posted from say, Breitbart? Or The Blaze? I would never cite anything from those sources because they are known to be far-right. But whenever anyone else does, the outrage and mocking starts immediately. Would you say those people are “coming off like a fragile little glass figurine, too afraid to see what happens outside your snow globe”?

No problem. Maybe make it clear what the rules are *before* blocking someone. This is a new and completely arbitrary “rule.”

No, according to your favorite site Salon has “mixed” factual reporting, and I think everyone knows it’s lefty.

Seriously. Try engaging with the substance.
