I wouldn't say favorite, but here's a very classic hot dish recipe. (There's lots of things I love about my adopted state of Minnesota. Much of its culinary heritage, like hotdish and lutefisk, I find unappealing)

I live in the Midwest and we haven’t made dinner casseroles since the 80’s.
The occasional breakfast casserole for events, yes. I can’t speak to the MN hotdish but I hope it’s alive and well. |
