Before I call the SACC office, I thought I would double check here first: Has anyone been able to see a 24-25 SACC calendar? Is SACC covering these early release Mondays? |
I would have never let my kids do SACC. It looked like the Wild West of childcare. I wanted better for my young kids. |
There was still early release Mondays when my high schooler was a kinder and they did cover them then-- I would expect they still will be now. |
FCPS says SACC will cover the early release Mondays: "School Age Child Care (SACC) sites will provide supervision for currently enrolled SACC students."

Rubbish. SACC has a very strict schedule. It was absolutely marvelous when our kids were of age. It was in the same building as the elementary school. They had an agenda and theme each school year. They provided snack, gym time, outside playground time, music, homework time, crafts, games, field trips, etc. The staff were patient and supportive. They knew each child by name and would sit down and play card games with a group of kids. Many of them were artists and shared their love 💕 of arts through painting, drawing, tie-dye, and music. I especially fell in love with SACC when I saw how happy the kids were to trot down the hallway and be greeted by the SACC staff. It’s a real prize to get a SACC slot, if you can! They have before school and after school hours. They cover early releases and teacher work days. SACC is a wonderful addition to the schools. |
Probably depends on the school but I don't think that is the experience of most. |
Good for you and this is helpful how to this discussion? Not to mention you're flat out wrong. My kids LOVED SACC. |
Don’t be a jackass. No one asked for that kind of response. Go be a troll elsewhere or, better yet, get of the forum and find something else to do. |
Thank you! I had completely missed this information. |
What a useless response. |
Girl, then why are your kids going to public school? Go private and leave the rest of us alone. SACC is great, which is why there's always a long waiting list to get in. |
Even though this is a nonsensical response I will respond anyway. My child loves SACC and they do a great job providing lots of activities in the program. Basically my child gets a 2 hr playdate after school everyday with his friends and it is much better than the daycare option we had before getting our spot. |
Hopefully this troll crawled back under their rock! What an idiotic comment! |
