Want to go luxuriate and relax for my birthday in a few months: looking for a property with great food, an excellent spa, and bonus points for a golf course. Do not want to have to go anywhere else. Can spend a few thousand for the weekend but really, really do not want to feel like the money is wasted: I’m looking for excellent service.
I posted asking about the Omni Homestead in Hot Springs and now nervous that this will not be a great experience. Open to your suggestions, thank you! |
| My snobby friend prefers Nemacolin of the locally drivable ones. |
| Salamander in Middleburg, Va. |
| Primland. But > 3 hours |
If you want legitimately great food, the Inn at Little Washington is really your only choice. |
| I think you'll be disappointed with the Omni and Nemacolin. I haven't been to Salamander but agree you should investigate it. |
| Would you consider flying somewhere? I feel like a variation of this question has been asked so many times over the years and the consensus is it doesn't exist. |
| 4S Baltimore if you give up the golf? |
| The Greenbrier might be a good fit. I think it is a slightly shorter drive as well. |
| I’d go to Woodloch if it were me. Pricey though. |
The lodge at woodloch, that is. |
| Blackberry Farm if you’re willing to hike a bit farther out. |

When/what month?
You can fly to Charleston and stay at The Sanctuary (oceanfront, excellent golf, and foodie restaurants—especially in Charleston). |
+1 Inn at Little Washington Inn at Perry Cabin or Wylder in Tilghman Island |

Tides Inn, Inn at Woodloch
my family had a wonderful experience at Omni Homestead. Found the rooms very comfortable, enjoyed all the amenities and the spa was great. I would not hesitate to go back. |
