Sugar Beach Viceroy St Lucia

Anonymous
I’m planning a trip for our family of five. We’re deciding between a residence or villa (residences are bigger, like 2300 square feet, villas are like 1500) and ocean view or beach front (beach front would also have a view of the ocean but since it’s lower down you wouldn’t see the striking volcano view).

I’m leaning toward the residence because we like our space but pretty conflicted about ocean view v beach front.

Any thoughts? Or any additional tips for those who have been?

We went spring break a few years ago preCovid. It's a really beautiful beach. I think we did residence but the beach view really is all that. We really enjoyed our time in St L - have fun!

I don’t see why you need a space as big as a large home while on vacation. We are also a family of 5 and have stayed in some big places but often find them too over the top for us.
I love having a great view but easy beach access may win out.

No experience with the villas, but we did one of the residences last winter and loved it for our family of five. You definitely have a view of one of the pitons from the house. It was nice to have the smaller, quieter beach right in front so we didn’t have to walk over to the main beach (which got a bit crowded). The little burger shack at the beach was a big hit. The houses are big for sure, but there was also a tv/pool table room that our kids used a lot. We didn’t use the outside dining area, but probably would have if we’d stayed longer.
