Athletic Registration

Mcps’s athletic registration system is so not intuitive and each year I seem encounter some new issue with it. This time around I made sure to hit Submit after it said Complete because in the past I’ve made the mistake of thinking Complete meant I was done. Now it says In Progress but then when I go to the status page it says Submitted. Does In Progress mean the school is reviewing it?

Did you upload the health physical? If you are unsure of the status, email the Athletic Director to see what is missing.

It is really not intuitive this year. I looked my child’s up this week. It listed as in progress so I opened it and it said only partially completed but would not let me work on it. I called the AD who said it was fully completed. My kid is a senior so I’ve been doing this for years with no issue.

fwiw in case anyone else is encountering this, I emailed our athletic director even though this still says in progress for some unknown reason and he confirmed the registration is complete. we do have a physical on file but it does expire later this month (I already have the new one to send to the director).

They haven't sent an email about it yet, so I've been waiting on that before registering. I just made sure to get the SR8 form filled out by our ped.

Or maybe it's because you're registering for HS and I'm waiting for the email for MS?

HS tryouts start next week, and ParentVue has been open for registration for those for a while.
Can't speak to MS, but if you want to get it done, just sign on to ParentVue and see if MS registration is open as well.

And note to the current MS athletes: tryouts for HS Fall sports always start before school does, this year one week prior, and in previous years two weeks prior.

Something to consider if you have a rising 8th grader who will want to tryout next year.

I also have a problem with this every year. I always think I've done everything but realize later on that I needed to click through one more page.

Surely, they have a ton of problems each year-- not sure why they don't make a tweak to make it more obvious.
