DC’s school doesn’t offer Latin and they already took 1 year in old school.
Do you know any online universities to take it through dual enrollment? Thanks! |
| I looked into this 2 years ago. Not a lot out there. Latin teacher at DC's public school retired and a replacement couldn't be found. School offered Latin through VHS (Virtual High School). It was a mediocre experience and I wouldn't recommend it. There are some online homeschool programs that offer Latin at high school level. If your child is going into 9th or 10th grade, I'd recommend switching lanugage. If my kid hadn't been so far in and needed the 3 years of a lanugage for college applications, they would have switched. |
| Look into online courses at colleges and universities. Second-semester college Latin = HS Latin II. |
| If you're in Virginia, our DD is taking Latin II through Virtual Virginia this year, took Latin I through them last year also. Her school didn't offer Latin at all. |

Bingham Young University has online HS courses. My kids had to take Health with them for HS credit but they also teach AP's in various subjects as well as Latin, Chinese, Japanese, Spanish & French.
