Patuxent??

Any parents have experience with Patuxent Aquatic Club? Specifically at the UMD site? I have an 8 year old who enjoyed a summer of MCSL and is thinking of winter swimming for the first time. It's much cheaper than Machine and I've heard grumblings about the Gears at UMD.

Long time satisfied parent here. Both sites are fine. MD is more of a logistic pain at times than Fairland no matter what team you're on. Traffic, parking, Bball game days, etc.

DC has been on the team for a year now. Although I have not been to the CP location, I think I will likely have to move location once he passes 10 as at Fairland 11 up practice late. But the team has been perfect for him, he went in straight out of lessons and not breathing to the side when doing freestyle. After the year he made 2 MCSL all-star standards. He made a lot of friends on the team also.

Another long time PAC parent here (mostly did Fairland with an occasional UMD practice here and there.) The folks who run PAC are great. Low key team perfect for kids who do multiple sports/like to swim but don't want to make it their lives work. But there are also some great swimmers on the team. Lanes can get crowded. Late practice is hard on younger kids. DS just graduated from the program and was very happy all of his years there.
