Child of the mid-80s here. I have yet to find goggles comfortable nowadays. I tend to push them in but with the suction, is that needed? I feel terrible pressure sensation on both eyes and well, I also have the issue of closely set eyes. |
With modern goggles I don’t do the extra push that I used to in the 90s. Also, you might want to look for pairs with nose pieces that swap out.
I got sick of bad goggle marks and occasional leaking and gave in to an internet ad for Magic5 goggles. The hype was real- I have been using them for a year and am very happy and am not getting goggle headaches or horrible marks anymore. It was worth the expense because I was throwing $15 goggles out in frustration after a few uses anyway. |
Get a swimming mask instead |
I have been using Aquasphere. I think I have the Kayenne. They don’t leak and are extremely comfortable. |
I love these too |
These are what my kids wear also. They make an adult version. |
It’s probably that your eyes are close together. A swim mask sounds like a good solution. |
Agreed! |
The Olympians like Katie Ledecky and Regan Smith had intense marks on their faces from their goggles. I got a nerve flare up from goggles. |
There’s a company called snake and pig that specializes in goggles that are comfortable and don’t leave goggle marks. Instead of a gasket, it uses an “air tube”. They are not suitable for racing, but they are supposedly very comfortable.

I find that the shape and size really make a difference when it comes to my comfort. As others have said, the ones shaped like small masks have felt more comfortable that’s the ones that feel like they’re sucking my eye sockets.
I’ve had these for a couple of years and find them quite comfortable for smaller goggles. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07P95K1ZT/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 |
