| Come 2026, the word on the street is Mendo is eying a run at the Mayor's office. Would you support him? |
|
No way. Not ever.
But I don't think DC is going to have a white mayor. |
| I don't like Mendo, but let me say the bar is so low that anybody is better than Mauriel Bowser. |
|
Murial has to go, but an ancient Phil is not the answer.
Christina Henderson, Robert White, Karl Racine - there has to be someone else. |
Racine was soft on crime. White and Henderson are for sale. |
| Randy Clarke is the mayor DC needs. |
That actually isn't a bad idea. |
| Mendo is possibly the least charismatic person in the District of Columbia, so I don't imagine he'd fare very well in a mayoral campaign. He's also 71 years old and has been on the Council for 25 years; not exactly the fresh alternative for voters who don't like the current government. I don't know which street this is the word on, but seems ... implausible, at least. |
Yes. |
Just no. |
There's a few problems with Mendo but the most stark one is ... he's a white dude. |
| Can we bring Catania back? |
Is he a DC resident? I thought he lived in VA. |
|
Mendo has repeatedly said he is not interested in being mayor, and as others have pointed out, he's in his 70s.
Bowser will win if she decides to run again. You have to remember that the people most critical of her (extremely online white people) make up an insignificant portion of the DC electorate. |
Depends on demographic trends. If DC eventually in the coming decades has a white majority, then a white mayor is possible. |
