Have some ants in the basement. I’ve used the Terro traps. They work really well. But this last little infestation they just won’t budge.
Figured maybe it’s time for pest control to do the outside and inside as needed. Orkin? Terminix? Any other recs? Green? |
| Home Paramount is who we use. Never tried the others. If you want green boric acid but you will have ants. |
| We are having an ant infestation too and they are proving hard to get rid of. These are small black ants. |
OP here. Same. They aren’t causing any harm. Just won’t leave. Usually I can get rid of them. Not this go around. |
I mean Green Pest Control the company. |
Do you have any theories why? I have never had ants like this. |
| We have Terminix come in quarterly. That stopped the ant problem. |
Much hotter weather. |
| Pest services treat the entire exterior at ground level around the perimeter. |
| Is there a solid local company with a good reputation versus going with a national brand? |
| Try the combat ant gel. I find that better than Terro. |
| How much Terro did you put down? I put baits in every room in June and our worst infestation was over in 24 hours. One bait was black when I picked it up. |
| Can you buy the ant/roach spray and spray along the baseboards in between the bait stations? I've done that with good luck when the bait stations aren't enough. |
| Diatamaceous earth. |

We use Erlich for quarterly perimeter spray. Their treatment doesn't do a thing to stop ants.
We deal with ants ourselves via Terro outdoor and indoor bait traps. Typically the ant problem is bad outdoors in spring (meaning, ants try to come in via the kitchen door) and we set the outdoor baits around the perimeter. And occasionally (but in particular the past couple of weeks) we get them indoors in the upstairs rooms and we set indoor baits in the windowsills and it takes care of the problem after a couple of days. |
