FCPS gatehouse jobs?

From your experience, how flexible are these? Can you ever swing working remotely sometimes?

Everyone is back in the office 5 days per week, unless your particular office doesn’t have enough desks, in which there is a bit of flexibility. They have lost many great, motivated people to more flexible work. It is pure idiocy

Agreed that it’s dumb. If public sector can’t pay as much as private, they should take advantage of any perks at their disposal to keep our best working for the students in Fairfax.

I saw an FCPS job posting that was right up my alley, IT related, that can likely be done remotely but it didn't mention even hybrid so I was wondering what experience people have with that. I would think most people have kids in FCPS and might want some flexibility and not have to be in an office from 9-5.

I think it is harder for them to allow hybrid given most employees are at schools and can’t work virtually ever.

Sorry, its a cushy gig but it comes with downsides. Most Gatehouse jobs are not remote or hybrid allegedly. I have been in the building before for other reasons and it was awfully quiet and unpopulated though.

Correct. They've sacrificed a lot of great people in the name of making the teachers feel better about forcing central to commute. The turnover to LCPS and PWCS has been pretty significant.
