Binders bags for Middle School?

My son is entering 6th grade. For binders, do kids carry around the 3 ring binder that's also a bag to fit their chromebooks inside (something like this: https://www.amazon.com/Zipper-Binder-3-Inch-ORing/dp/B0BQTP8S6L )?I do middle school presentations sometimes and I saw some kids carrying them (but that was a couple of years ago). He's going to go to North Bethesda MS.

Or should I just get him the standard 3 ring binder?

Yes that’s what most kids have at DD’s school, but they don’t carry chromebooks in them. Those stay in the classrooms.

Do they still have a carry around Chromebook?

They switched to cart model.

Yes some kids do that OP. You'll see a mix of that and regular binders.

Depends on the school. My kid couldn’t have a backpack or tote just binder and had to lug the computer home daily.
