Involved in car accident (back is hurting) what do I do?

Anonymous
Someone rear ended me. My back is hurting three days later. It hurt day of as well but I just took Motrin. I don’t know how to navigate insurance. They said I don’t have PIP (I had no clue) and basically said “at least you aren’t that injured and best of luck.” Ok… I am hurting though. I am seeing a doctor tomorrow. Hopefully just a pulled muscle that will work itself out with time. Do I just suck it up and pay for doctors myself? Our case is still open with insurance. They said the other is most likely at fault and when they are, they recommend I close my case. I feel like no one, not even my insurance, is on my side.

You should be able to get a free consultation with a lawyer, but it is really early. First thing is to focus on your health.

Get a lawyer. Don't feel bad about it, you are not seeking to cheat in any way, it is standard practice to secure one in this situation.

If you were rear ended, the other guy has to pay the bills. Or their insurance company. Did you file a police report? Call your insurance companty?
Your insurance is supposed to collect from the other guy for you. Did you call yourcagent? Do you have a claims center number?
You don't need a PIP. The other guy pays.
PIP is a form of no-fault personal injury coverage.
It is optional in states like DMV that are not no fault.
You may pay but get reimbursed.
Call a lawyer they'll take 1/3 but you seem clueless or in shock. You could have ramifications the rest of your life. They pay.

Yes they take 1/3 but still it is $$ you would not get otherwise

Also find those policy papers and read them. Or take to lawyer. Yourchealth insurancecwill ask is this due to an accident and they sure will be going after the other guys insurance.

Also what insurance company do you have? Maybe they insure both but they have to be impartial.
Tell us so we don't get them.
