| DD’s team (U11) will be playing in EDP but some of her friend's teams will be playing in Pre/Ecnl and NCSL, What is different between all that league? I’m new to all this can someone please explain it to me? Thank you |
| Find the best coach you can at that age. League does not matter. Club does not matter. |
|
I would say the level of competition:
Pre ECNL EDP NCSL
|
| It just means your daughter’s team will be playing against different teams. EDP probably means more games vs maryland teams. Other than that the league really means nothing at that age, despite what other parents may tell you. If she and you are happy with the coach and teammates, enjoy the season and don’t worry about the league. You might get to play some of the other league teams in a tournament. |
|
-Pre-ECNL is the most competitive league that only accepts ECNL & ECNL RL Teams.
-EDP is competitive and also takes pre Girls Academy (GA) teams. (Who will later leave and play in the GA league at U13). EDP has more teams in Maryland and Pennsylvania. -NCSL has ECNL II teams and the remainder of the travel teams not in ECNL or GA. Their opponents are much closer. |
The difference is the amount of driving you will do
|
Thank you |
Pre-ECNL is not a league, it's a tag that ECNL clubs put on their top team prior to U13. |
Curious, Since so many GA teams in DMV, Do we have Pre-GA league? |
Definitely is a league in some places https://theecnl.com/sports/2023/8/8/Pre-ECNLG_0808230711.aspx |
| *Including the North Atlantic which includes several MD teams that mirrors the same clubs as ECNL |
but not here. If your kid wants to play for FC Connecticut and you can afford the airfare to practice and games, then have at it. |
Bethesda is not here
|
| And yes this is for U12, but the U11 team with the Pre-ECNL label plans on playing in this league at U12 and likely has similar standards. |
It’s a league here https://system.gotsport.com/org_event/events/24994/schedules?group=188352 |
