This handbag looks great but how is quality with D&B lately?
$149 on sale at the moment |

It’s $149. What are you expecting?
Clearly it isn’t made by master craftsmen, but it should be good enough. Even my pleather TJ Maxx bags from high school/college lasted a handful of years. |
| Saddle bags are big right now, so you can probably find a nice one without the brand being front and center. |
| I have several Dooney and Bourke. Love them. I'm hard on bags but these have lasted so long I rotated them out for a newer look. Sounds like they need to come out again, lol. |
| I love the look of saddle bags but I have figured out that I really hate dealing with the flap top. A zipper top is so much easier. |
| It looks pretty small. Are you okay with the dimensions? |
| This is a great example of everyone having different tastes. Because I see that bag, and I see a really, really objectively ugly bag. Like, of all the bags in the world, it is hard to understand how anyone would be excited about this bag. |
| It appears the purse police has spoken. The OP did not ask if you liked the bag. She asked about D&B quality. |
The shape is classic and the proportions seem good. The logo is a no for me but I don't see it as deeply ugly. To each his or her own I guess. |
| I just watched the movie "You Hurt My Feelings" and the main character played by Julia Louie Dreyfuss looked like she was wearing a vintage coach. It made me want to buy a new old one. Maybe you could consider buying a better quality slightly used bag for around the same price. The leather will probably be better quality and softer. They tend to wear well but also the leather can be refurbished pretty easily. |

D&B quality is still pretty good. That bag won’t have their famous All Weather Leather, which built their reputation for quality, but they build their bags well.
One trick is to hunt down the same bag on secondhand sites and look for how many are damaged, and if the damage is consistently in the same places. For example, secondhand Kate Spade and Tory Burch totes all have handles that break or tear out. That giant logo in the center front is horrible, though. I’ve never seen a Dooney with that logo. |
