SG Patients- Ultrasounds

I have my first US next week on 6w4d. I think I remember my SG nurse saying they will do another around 8 weeks. I'm trying to figure out when to schedule an appointment with my OB. Does anyone know if SG does one or two US and if they do two, when the second is done? Thanks

Exactly as you stated 6 and 8 weeks Congrats!

Yup...6 and 8 weeks. They release you to your OB for a 10 week appointment. Some OB's won't see you until 12 weeks, but if you push, they'll get you in at the 10 week marker.

You may want to call now to schedule a 10 week OB appt. it took a couple weeks for me to get one (I went to g'town's OB dept.)

I had mine at 6 w 4 days, and then again at 8 weeks. SG also had me to come in for another US when I had some unexplained bleeding -- thankfully, everything was ok, but I was comforted that I wasn't left in no-man's land bw my last SG appt and my first OB appt.

SG told me I could schedule it for any day during the 6th week- the 4th day just worked best with my schedule.

Don't let your OB put you off until 12 weeks. You need to do an NT scan and other blood work before then. Call your OB now and arrange appointments.

agree with PP.. tell them you were at SG and sometimes they will get you in a bit early..

I was only allowed one u/s at SG. I got pregnant on an unmedicated "rest cycle" and they had me come in at 6.5 wks & then released me to my OB. I asked if I should come back at 8.5 wks and/or not be released to the OB until 10 wks, and they said no, not necessary. Then at 8.5 wks I had some bleeding & called SG in a panic to see if I could get an ultrasound since my first OB appointment wasn't for a while, and the nurse said I was "too far along" for them to see me again. Fortunately the OB was nice enough to squeeze me in early so I got another u/s at 8.5 wks and baby was fine.
