You think there is so much out there, and I know every car is a price point compromise, but such a lack of solid choices. My experience:
- VW Tiguan - has a safety rating issue - Mazda CX-50 - a lot of seat comfort complaints - BMW x1 - a gussied up Mini - Volvo Cx40 - seems to have a lot of quality issues Might just cough up the money for a BMW x3. Maintenance might be high, but a five star safety rating. |

Curious what your priorities are in car.
Why no Lexus, Acura, Honda or Toyota? |
| Your universe of choices is rather small. |
| I love my rav4 prime. Perfect compromise of family car, storage, fuel efficiency, good in snow, and decent trim options for under $50k |
| Well I glad you realize this, OP. Pick the least worst - that's the game in life, whether it's a spouse, a President, a house, a car, a college. |
OP: drove the Lexus and the ride is too soft for me. Acura MDX same. They drop in more padding, custom dash compared to CRV, so it isolates from the road. Was thinking about RAV SE because that version has a stiffer suspension and wider tires, but seems like a ho hum vehicle. As you can tell, handling is very important to me. We also have a Ford Edge and it's more of a boulevard ride. |
What do you mean too soft? Maybe you should look at a more truck-based platform like a Jeep or Land Rover? |
| What’s your budget? |
Yeah the Chinese really make good cars. |
Could be made in Ghent. And the Chinese do pretty well making a bunch of prized possessions. Like iPhones. |

Good thing you only need one car then.
Here's a easy guide to every car you'll ever need: If you need to haul large and heavy materials at least once a week: Toyota Tacoma If not: Toyota Corolla There you go, I just solved your car shopping needs for the rest of your life. You're welcome. |
