I was just perusing a Smithsonian (left at vacation rental ![]() Anyway…article about discovering newest caves. It got me thinking given the crazy heat of that is making news - like it’s going mainstream - no on denying it’s getting hotter. Even flat earthed agree. It’s more of what’s causing it that is disagree on. I just feel like - why are we exploring space & caves? All earth’s scientists work on slowing down he inevitable?! NM 🫤 |
We know what to do to prevent climate change but most people can’t be bothered. It’s not a lack of knowledge that is our problem. |
But it's not individual people who will make a big impact.
It's policy. |
It's impossible for human beings who are used to convenience and the finer things in life to ever ever ever turn back development and continued environmental destruction. It's simply inevitable that we destroy natural resources based on the amount of people alive today. Not sure why people keep expecting or hoping something will change this fact. Look to mitigate the personal impacts that's really all you can do. It's a matter of I suppose stalling for time but that's relative as I'm not sure 10-20 years really makes anything better. |
It seems a lot of people, myself included, are ceasing to do things that are green but inconvenient when all around us we see people who don't care.
I'm in no hurry to stop driving my Outback when all around me are people with far bigger vehicles. I'm not going to put a cap on my weekend car trips this summer when millions of Americans are flying to Europe. It's like how billionaires who advocate for higher taxes on the wealthy don't give the IRS any more than necessary. They only are willing to do it if everyone else is pitching in. |
