We still do not have the DC Soccer schedule for the Fall. I understand it is because of permits. But my poor daughter's ballet/ gymnastics classes are filling up and with one car, we are trying not to commit to a schedule for her until we know his. That clearly is not going to work.
My son is U9 for DC Soccer. Any predictions as to when the games will be -- Saturday or Sunday? Mornings or afternoon? |
Surely you jest and have absolutely nothing to do |
| You are going to be waiting. Could be either day. |
| I don't understand these posts about "when is XXX schedule coming out?". How we DCUM know? Isn't it easier if you reach out to coach / manager/ team admin to find out? |
| Do you know what league your team will be playing inside? Ncsl posts schedules mid August and games are Saturday and/or Sunday, any time of the day. Typically one game per weekend though sometimes there is one on Saturday and one on Sunday, and then one weekend where you don’t have a game at all. |
| *playing in (not playing inside) |
| Sign your daughter up before classes fill. How will you explain it to her if she gets nothing because you were waiting on her brother's schedule? |
I am with this poster. You're bound to have schedule conflicts with travel. Sign her up. Also be friends with other kids' parents so that you can manage carpool/ride share. |
| Schedules aren't posted for another week for NCSL. It's on their calendar on the website. |
An adult is coming on DCUM to learn Parenting 101? |

Games are typically on Sundays but the time varies as does the location. There are also games on Saturdays on occasion—in our experience, maybe 2-3 weekends will have a random Saturday game plus a Sunday game.
There are also tournaments that take the entire weekend. There’s usually one in October over the holiday weekend, and another in December. I say sign your DD up for her classes and then rent a car, take Uber, carpool or take public transportation to her classes if there’s a conflict with soccer. More families do this than you might think. |
Eh...if you're new to the time commitment of travel anything and its your first kid, sometimes it can feel like everyone else 100% has their sh*t together. Was more of a reminder that youth activities is more of a village than they might realize. |
| This is the OP. Thanks to everyone who provided a helpful reply. And yes- first kid, first travel soccer experience and trying to do right by both kids. |
| DCUM is definitely a place where we all have our acts together |
| I would just sign the other kid up, maybe for both, and drop the less convenient one. |
