What is chemistry?

When people say they have chemistry, are they talking purely physical? What is chemistry exactly?

To me sexual chemisty is when there is a feeling of wanting to rip each other's clothes off. It is a tension that others can usually sense. It is hard to keep your eyes and hands off each other. In situations where you can't touch, it feels like a building tension of desire. Sexual chemistry can also be one sided. One person can feel that way but the other isn't smoldering.

Sexual chemistry to me has zero to do with actual compatibility. It is a feeling that one can have about a stranger or anyone.

There are three types-emotional, physical, and intellectual. If you find all three with someone and can sustain all three over time, lucky you!

Same, I feel intense chemistry with someone and I am not even physically attracted to him.
