PG Folks...what do you think about Gerron Levi for Executive?

I have seen little coverage about her. She is the only woman running and is an attorney. Of what we have to choose from, I am between her and Baker at this point.

Delegate Levi is the fiscally responsible and best choice. Delegate Levi was named 2010 Legislator of the Year by the MD State's Attorney's Association and Public Servant of the Year by the Collective Banking Group (150+ area churches). She has a plan to help our county Leap ahead in education, be smart on crime and create jobs. I also like the fact that we just celebrated the 90th anniversary of a women's right to vote and for the first time in history we could vote to elect the first Woman as Prince George's County Executive.

Wow, that was a canned response! I have actually worked wth Delegate Levi in Annapolis (although she wouldn't know me) and think she s great! She is on the toughest committee and always holds her own and is a strong voice for women in an enviroonment where statements like "we all know women lie about being raped" are accepted. I think she would do a great job and be a welome change from what we've come to expet in PG.

If the choice were between Levi and Michael Jackson, I would vote for her. Unfortunately, Levi has not been able to muster the support and resources to compete in all of Prince George's County.

At this point, it will either be Jackson or Rushern Baker. I like Michael Jackson but I am afraid that he cannot learn from his mistakes. He has not been able to assemble quality command staff in the Sheriff's department, which explains why so many mistakes happen over and over again.

By contrast, Rushern Baker is courageous and has the ability to bring people together in pursuit of the public good. We know this because Rushern Baker has led the passage of the Thornton Education Act under which brings $40 million dollars to Prince George's County schools every year.

Therefore, I think that Rushern Baker will be a better county executive than the other candidates. If we do not come together to support him, we may have to settle for Michael Jackson for eight years.
