| Your question is too generic to be of any value |
| Lottery only. That’s the key thing to know. |
Prior to covid it wasn't. It's really too bad they had to make it so the kids that need it most are rarely selected. |
What percentage of eligible students are accepted/ rejected? |
| What will be new if anything for the new lottery cycle |
| Probably nothing new. But they haven't made any announcements. |
| We just attend back to school night for 3rd graders. Nothing is mentioned about this CES, and I did not dare to ask teacher about it in a group setting. I seems it is so secretive. |
There is no secret at all. They screen everyone and place all who qualify in a lottery. There is nothing to do unless you get a spot and need to decide whether to take it. There is no reason why your school would talk about it, as it is run by central office, not your school. |
| It's an elite literacy program that teaches how to use the Caps Lock key properly. |
Take a chill pill. You'll get a letter and an email. 3rd grade comes before 4th grade, believe it or not! |
Why would they talk about a 4th/5th grade program at a 3rd grade BTSN? Back to School Night is for meeting the teacher and setting expectations for the year. Funny thing, though: MCPS posted an entire page on their website about this “secretive” program. It even includes the timeline for this year’s selection process, which won’t begin until January. https://www.montgomeryschoolsmd.org/curriculum/specialprograms/elementary/center-enriched-studies/ |
