Attended Atlanta in 96. It was amazing. I am not a big sports fan, but the Olympics is much more than sports. The coming together of so many nations, the fun vibe in the streets, the swapping of pins…it was an experience like no other. I don’t know what I expected, but I left Atlanta totally blown away. I hope to be able to go to LA with my sons.
Thanks! Do you have more details on what it was like on a daily basis? |
I was a volunteer for the '04 Greek Olympics. I managed housing for one of the sports that included athletes, back-ups, sponsors and people that bought packages. It was intense. I basically worked 12 hour days for 2 weeks straight. On the positive, I got to stay in hotels for free and when they had leftover tickets that didn't sell we got to go see the events after work. I was 19 and never ever would have been able to afford it otherwise.
I would love to learn more about volunteering. I really want to do LA 2028 and now SLC in 2034.
We leave Wednesday to head to Paris!
Yes, went to some outdoor water events at the Atlanta 96 Olympics. It was much more fun than I thought it would be, and interested seeing all the people from different countries celebrating their wins!
