K Drama fans, is Kocowa worth it?

Anonymous
I like the funny and not too serious Korean dramas or those with a supernatural touch. I also liked The City Hunter, Lee Min Ho's other shows, and now Ji Chang Wook. But is Kocowa on Amazon worth the money? Do they have a good selection of shows? Are there ads on it now with this crap on Amazon Prime Video? Or is there a different platform you recommend? Many thanks for considering my request.

I use Viki which has a bunch of kocowa shows on it along with many other shows from Korea and other Asian countries. I believe it costs $10 or so a month.

I’d get Viki if you want Kdramas. Netflix also has a bunch.

+1 for Viki app

So Viki is good? Is there a site where I can see everything they have on it? Are there ads regardless of paying?

Your choice between Kocowa and Viki depends on your preferences and viewing habits. If you prioritize access to the latest Korean dramas and variety shows, Kocowa may be the better option. However, if you enjoy exploring a diverse range of Asian content beyond Korea, Viki offers a more extensive library.

Try the free trial and see what you prefer. Personally, I have Netflix and Viki and hardly ever use Prime to watch anything.

There are good dramas produced in Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, Taiwan, Japan, China, etc. so I agree that Viki offers more diversity, especially if you like historical/fantasy/action dramas. If you like modern/contemporary/workplace dramas, then Kocowa might be sufficient for you.

Ditto Viki is great and the subtitles are superior to most other sites (not sure about Kokowa). Between that and Netflix I'm pretty set for Kdramas. I used to love DramaFever too, before it went under suddenly.

I have both kocowa and viki and lately viki has much less kdrama and kocowa has much more so really if you are a fan of kdramas you have to have both

Yes. My wife is a massive k drama fan. All she does is live on kocawa. We have Viki too, but she uses kowaca way more.

I originally signed up for the Viki Plus plan that includes Kocowa just so I could watch Coffee Prince, but then I kept it both out of laziness and because Plus has a higher device allowance so my mother can share my account.

I’m sure we’d have plenty to watch with only Viki (except Coffee Prince!), but it’s been kind of fun having more to explore via Kocowa. I’ve been getting into Korean reality shows, and those all seem to be on Kocowa rather than Viki.

Viki barely had any new kdrama so I moved to Kocowa. Haven't regretted since plus it's cheaper so it's a win win.
