Anywhere that teaches treading water to adults in NOVA?

One skill I never learned. I’d love to sign up for a lesson but it looks like based on class description that it’s no longer commonly taught?

I just went through lessons at Cub Run. They certainly teach you treading water. https://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/parks/reccenter

I took level 3. I am now moving to level 4. I am very happy with my lessons and quality of their instructors.

Lessons? Can you do breaststroke kick? If so, do one leg at a time, and it's called eggbeater.

That's what synchro swimmers and water polo players do. Tilt your feet up and you'll go backwards. Tilt them down and you'll go forwards. You can also go side to side.

Fairfax county rec center has adult swimming lessons that cover this (and you can also ask the instructor to be sure to focus on it).

Eggbeater is to propel oneself out of the water (for a dance move or to throw a waterpolo ball, etc). It is effective but takes a lot of energy. Are you just looking for a survival move or is eggbeater what you want?

Thank you all PPs!

Op here. Treading in any manner. I am quite buoyant naturally but never learned to tread. I have watched a few videos - some use flutter to tread, most use egg beater, there is also some tutorials on frog kick, so figuring out with the help of someone skilled which works for my body type would be great!
