I’m slightly embarrassed to post this.
I’ve been dating a man for a few years. It’s a no-drama, respectful, committed relationship. We have no plans to cohabitate or marry. But now I’m seeing some possible red flags and feeling like perhaps he hasn’t been fully honest with me about his past. It has me feeling crazy. He was a party in a child custody case in Montgomery County. I have the court record number. Is it possible to see the details of the case? He has told me about the case (how he caught for custody of his kids) but I’m thinking I may not have the full story. I would appreciate any advice the group may have. |
You should be able to pull the full records at the courthouse. |
You can use MD case search but most child custody files are closed as it involves kids. What does his ex say? His friends? |
Hmmm, his mask is slipping? Trust your gut, OP. You saying "It has me feeling crazy" is not a good thing. Just...trust your intuition. |
This! Trust your gut, always! |
No, family court records are private for obvious reasons. |
You can look up the proceeding on case search with either party's full name or the case number: https://casesearch.courts.state.md.us/casesearch/
You're not going to get details of the filings, but you should be able to see what was filed, when, by whom, and the outcome. |
