Two questions about post FET -Travel and Working out

Anonymous
Hi everyone,
I'm doing a FET at the end of August but it's out of town in NJ. We typically drive up and drive back, but I'm wondering if you think we should stay in NJ post-FET? My clinic doesn't believe in a day's rest - but what do you think?

Also, would you work out before the pregnancy test? I'm a pretty committed 3x a week in the gym lifting. It helps me crazy. Thoughts?
I want to be careful because I've had two losses.

Thoughts?

I took it easy after the FET because I didn't want to second guess my actions if it didn't work out.

Same here. I stuck to walking to be safe. You’ve gone through so much just to get to this FET, you don’t want to be wondering “what if.” I think SGF told me no lifting after transfer, but ask your doctor.

You’ll be fine to drive back same day though - sit in the car then sit on the couch the rest of the day, no problem.

No working out, just walking. I would stay one night. Eat warming foods. Soak feet in warm water. Get an acupuncture session before FET if you have been doing that. Good luck!

I just went through this! I’ll be two weeks post-FET tomorrow, and mine was successful.

My doctor said it was fine to travel the next day - my FET was a Thursday and we drove 6 hours to CT on Friday night.

If your doctor says to stay in NJ overnight, then do it, but if she says it’s fine to drive that evening, I’d listen.

As far as exercise, my understanding from my doctor was no intense exercise for 3-5 days. Then you can resume your regular routine. There’s no need to stop until the pregnancy test.

In reality, I think it is fine to work out moderately (not intensely) after transfer. For me, I stuck with walking and light elliptical, just because I did not want to question myself if the transfer failed. Regarding travel, I cannot see how car travel would be an issue. You're just sitting there.

No working out

I took an 11-hour roadtrip immediately after my transfer. I just made sure to get out and walk around every few hours. I didn’t work out intensely—just brisk walking until the positive pregnancy test. My baby’s 4 now!

Thank you, everyone, I will stick to chill walking and will enjoy sitting in the car for the travel back home.
