I’m on week 2 of bleeding. First 4 days or so was spotting, followed by a normal period (a few heavy days, then gradually less for another 3-4 days) and now back to spotting but still red blood. It’s been a solid 2 weeks. I’m so sick of this. I’ll be 46 next month and have been getting my period for 35 years. I just want this to end.
I do have a history of fibroids so if I’m still bleeding at the end of the week I’m going to see Dr. |
| Get checked. Could be benign polyp(s) too. |
| This happened to me two months so far. |
| This happened to me and it lasted about two years. After trying several things (including removing some.benign polyps, which did make it stop for a few months), I finally got an IUD. If it’s just two weeks and not very heavy, the doctor probably won’t be very concerned. I was bleeding profusely and even that they were like “yeah, that happens. Stay hydrated.” |
| Me three, but 55! 2 fibroids. Doc put me on progesterone to stop the bleeding (saw her at the 2 week point when I was still bleeding). Looking at surgery for the fibroids in the Fall, after summer travel and kids all settled in at their respective colleges |
| Thanks. This is… not exactly reassuring but at least helpful in making me feel normal. |

TMI but some benign polyps grow on stalks. They can spot as they work their way out the cervix, then a period gets them out (cramps help). Then the polyp(s) are there spotting. A quick look and snip gets those. I had that done many times when younger.
Postmenopausal it was terrifying the first 3 times. They did want to do a hysteroscopy to get any lurkers. But all benign. |
| I had this kind of bleeding with a fibroid. After enduring it for too long, I had a hysterectomy. |
| I have this due to perimenopause. It sucks and I can’t wait for it to be over. I’m 51. The doctor did do endometrial biopsy and vaginal ultrasound to check that all was okay. |

I have adenomeosis- diagnosed after 6 wks of period bleeding
IUD is controlling it for now, but I think peri menopause is also making everything worse in terms of cramping, etc |
