Thanks, guess individual preliminary seeds tomorrow? |
Dang, you don’t have yours yet? Ours came out yesterday. |
Oh, people do, OP is probably just someone nosy who doesn’t have a kid participating. |
So obviously a kid seeded 1-16 is a lock to get in. But since you can only swim 2 events I assume there is a good amount of scratching? If a kid is seeded 20 or so, do they have a good chance of getting in? |
It depends on strokes. I believe free and fly had most scratches in coaches LC, which I think would be similar for all stars as the kids good at free and fly usually do well in other strokes too and not quite so the other way. |
Lots of scratches in Female 12&U 100M Medley |
Lots of movement today. |
For some age groups, fly was least scratched stroke at LC. If we were making vast generalizations, usually younger IM gets scratched. Also, fyi, futures is that weekend, so lots of top 13/14 and 15/18s scratched, though some still swimming. |
I am not OP but our coach doesn’t send them to kids or parents you have to look them up yourself. So not necessarily someone nosy who doesn’t have a kid participating. |
Do you not just use divisional rankings? Seems so much easier; otherwise, why have divisionals. |
Divisionals are for the team’s place in the division so they do matter, just not for individual all stars. MCSL uses best times from any A meet to seed all stars: so much more preferable for so many reasons IMO: gives kids 5 chances in presumably different pools, can take more than 2 kids per team, best kids can be seeded in more events and then they scratch. Feels more equitable to me. |
To clarify, times from a meets and divisionals so is included |
Wow indeed. |
