Anyone have a doc they love & want to recommend? I've called a few who have been recommended to me & they are not accepting new patients so I need more names..... please! Am at a practice at 2141 K but the doc takes about 5 seconds. I don't see how he could possibly determine my health based on his exams! Time for a change. TIA.
My doc (Gary Koritzinsky) is at 2141 K. I don't think he is the one you don't like -- he spends lots of time and is great. He may not be taking new patients though.
People rave about Prudence Kline at 2021 K but she doesn't take insurance
Lisa Kaufmann at 1145 19th. The problem is, her front desk team isn't always on the ball - and she isn't always accepting new patients. But I'll put up with the small things because she is great and does a very thorough overview, such as coming to the waiting room to get you herself so she can see off the bat if you need to lose weight! Love Dr. K.
Elliott Aleskow - 2141 K also. Takes patients, insurance, and is a top ranked Washingtonian doctor. He is great.
Alan Morrison on Conn Avenue in Chevy Chase DC. not downtown but easy to get to, takes insurance, is extremely thorough and has a wonderful manner. His receptionist and nurses are very efficient.
Dr. David Jacobs at 2141 K. He's great but doesn't take any health insurance.
Morrison is great, but he just did a survey of his patients that suggests he might be going boutique/no insurance. You might want to ask before becoming a new patient. |
Lisa Kaufman at 1145 19th is also my doc and is great. I concur with the PP about the front desk staff, although I think they've improved a bit lately since last year they were doing surveys about the practice including the front desk staff. They are charing a $35 admin fee now, I hope that they don't go no insurance. She closes to new patients at times and does only take certain insurance. I know she takes BCBS PPO.
I also used to see Dr. Lisa Kaufman on 19th street for many years - she came highly recommended (by Dr. Koritzinsky, among other) and I personally got along with her well and thought she was a fabulous doctor. That said, I think her front desk staff is downright AWFUL - they are disorganized, surly, and unpleasant. I also found it very difficult to get appointments with Dr. Kaufman when I was sick, and frequently ended up seeing the nurse practitioner on her staff instead. I finally got to the point where it was too much hassle to go downtown (live and work in Arlington) and I really couldn't stand not being able to make timely sick appointments and/or waiting forever in the waiting room. I now see a doctor at a practice in Arlington and am much more satisfied. |
