Wow, an MJ autographed album!? That’s pretty great. Some very interesting art.

And a really terrible blackamoor statue…

I’m very tempted to go check this out and see how the Jones’ live. The irony per Zillow is that the house is only $4mil which is less than some on my street (still more than my house though). We’ll see what they end up listing it for

Hmmm. I wonder if this is one of the people who got caught in the IRS crackdown. They were probably getting away with not paying taxes.

That said, you have to have a specific taste to buy all that French dynasty stuff.

They had me at grotto. Just like the playboy mansion.

I can’t handle estate sales emotionally most of the time, especially not in the house and I hate when there are clothes.

I actually love buying stuff from estates, but I need it to be psychologically laundered by an auction house or something I guess lol.

There's also a white servant (jester) wooden shelf.

Yes, it's a very Boomer or Silent Generation view of what a large house should contain. I noticed a bunch of Restoration Hardware pieces that look like they fit in.

Why do you care? Most of the times it’s houses chock full of junk and unnecessary stuff. Westerners just love cluttering their houses

I suspect it’s the connection that it’s likely someone who died. But folks have estate sales for a number of reasons, not just death.

I stopped by earlier this afternoon and it was an absolute zoo; people trying to haggle and it took me over an hour to purchase the one thing I bought.

But beyond the sale itself, the house was just… gaudy? Clearly someone with too much money buying things that scream “wealth.” And yet, people are wandering through their house picking at their scraps….

You spend your whole life filling your house with gaudy Italian stuff and then here comes this bozo.

Well, it’s not uncouth to have a sale. They did a Bunny Mellon sale, for goodness sake.
