Puffy leg veins - ahhh!

Anonymous
I am 36, have always been a workout junkie in good shape my entire life. 5'8 and 145lbs, have a 3 yo and 1.5yo. Maybe it's been there longer, but I've just noticed this week a few veins on my legs are starting to puff out! How do I fix this? Do the vein clinic actually work or is this just inevitable part of life?

Are you sure it's not something more serious?

Try compression stockings

Maybe you work out too much.

Varicose veins. Blame your kids. No I wouldn’t go to a vein clinic unless they are causing you problems. The vein treatment clinics are not without risk, and can cause problems later down the road.

Wear compression stockings on the airplane, long car rides, and just whenever you feel like it. I have one in my lower leg (40, 3 kids, 125 lbs). I have the toeless compression stockings for travel, and footless ones (they look like calf sleeves and come in lots of colors/patters), that I sometimes throw on at night around the house on hot days or under pants in winter. Doc Miller are the ones I use.

Nobody is looking at your legs but you.

It's SUPER humid outside that's making everything swell and be more puffy in general.

Like what? I had varicose vein surgery 12 years ago and have had no issues since.

Honestly, that sounds horrible and painful. It is one of my biggest fears to get those. I am 53, and nothing of such sort yet. Just looking at it is giving me the creeps. It would be best if you went to the doctor.
