Elementary Teacher --> 7 years sahm --> next career ideas?

I am still fully certified as a teacher in my state but I shutter thinking about going back. I recently went into an interview and it just felt so wrong.

I can do it but I'm 40 now. I love kids but I don't want to work necessarily with them anymore since I have my own children if that makes sense!

Any ideas? Thanks

Without any recent experience that’s a big swing.

I would do SAT tutoring prep at like Princeton Review

Family friendly, and will build your vocabulary in English if it’s your 2nd language.

It does, I did the same thing before I had kids. I was younger though and was able to take a pay cut to get admin work and get general office skills. That was 10 years ago, and that experience combined with working my network and of course a little luck has me making 4 times the amount I started at. And you can pee whenever you want.

Maybe sub a bit. Teaching is different post kids but it allows you to keep the same schedule they have.
If I could I would be an assistant- fun with the kids and not as much responsibility.

If financially feasible, be an assistant. Still the fun parts of teaching without all the terrible parts lol

I taught high school math for 15 years, have stayed home since COVID, and now am in community college to get an associate's degree in nursing/RN. My long-term plan is to become an NP, which you can do with an AAS and a bachelor's in another area. Community college has been wonderful and is not expensive and nursing is much higher paying than where I was teaching.

My division's former administrative assistant was a former teacher. Very organized, gets things done. Was recently promoted to a project manager role.
