I’m looking to buy a Pilates mat or thick yoga mat and figured I’d take advantage of Prime Day. Do you have a brand you recommend? I want it for general exercise but like the thickness of most Pilates mats. |
I like Gaiam yoga mats and they have a variety of thicknesses. |
I've been doing yoga and pilates for 20+ years and recommend Manduka. These are great, but not sure how thick you're looking for. I have some join pain and this one is my fave - its thick enough 6mm and dense. I don't like the super thick ones though that are like half an inch thick - Not as supportive for yoga.

Second vote for Manduka Pro. I use it for Pilates and yoga and the difference between it and mats like Gaimen is night and day. Work every penny. |
Manduka Pro
I’ve had my Manduka mats for 20+ years and they’re still going strong. |
This is the mat that many pilates studios use:

Another vote for Manduka Pro. My yoga instructor pointed me to them. |
A tiny bit off topic, but while everyone is hyping Manduka (and I 100% agree with the hype), I just discovered they have yoga blocks with a curve on one side to make them ergonomic. I got mine and LOVE them. I have some minor CTS and ulnar neuropathy and can have some pain if I put too much pressure on some parts of my hand, and these are so much better as handheld props than standard blocks- msore comfortable and easier to grip.
