Latest time before travel to buy tickets

| Is there some kind of rule about when tickets start to go up a number of weeks before a travel date. We would like to travel in late November but are waiting on a sports schedule that won't come out until Sept 14. Would you book now and just take a credit if date conflicts or wait? We are looking to book tickets to the Caribbean |

Nope! I realize i said late November and ACTUALLY meant early November lol. Right after Halloween. |

We in APS have a 5 day weekend, I am also looking, no good deal yet and I am waiting for that |

| We always buy late, like a month before departure even international. Have to do it this way because dh never knows his schedule very far in advance. It's not an issue. |

FCPS had a 5 day weekend too. I have a few flights tracked, but will probably wait until August to buy. Most of NoVa being off may prevent good deals out or WAS airports that week. Loudon is off starting Wednesday, which will help. |

+1. Loudoun has a huge break, Wed-Tue, although I did already book our tickets. Most people don't look at the schedule that far out though. |

| There is no hard and fast rule. The airlines have advanced software and teams of people to adjust pricing. If it's an in-demand flight it might be pricey as soon as it's released and never drop. |
