Amazing! Can you share more? Age, years in government; saving strategy? Big congrats to you!
Congrats! You must sleep well at night. Good job saving. I’m $2k short of $1M at age 50. Hoping to get over that hump with my next few contributions.
That’s amazing PP! Can you tell us how your got there? I saw a poster on Reddit who recently posted the same and it’s inspiring to hear your savings trajectory (and would be very interested to hear how similar your paths are).

It is not that hard my wife put 30k in her 401k account in total. Was matched with 30k and last week crossed one million.
My job I had 2006 to 2016 and did not roll over crosses one million This week. My third one on at 1.8 millio |
Nice! I’m at 170k at age 30. Aiming for 2.5 Mil by age 50, just myself. Wife has 100k more than me and she’s 28
That's amazing, OP! Congrats! DH is a fed and he is on track to hit $2m in the next few years.
To get an employer’s match of 30k your wife should be making $350k. That is very hard for a woman ! |
That's great! I'm just shy of 1M!

Congratulations! I crossed the 1M line a couple of years ago and it felt amazing. I worked from age 21-41 steadily and always contributed the max (occasionally got a small employer match but not always). I stepped out of the workforce (sandwich gen issue of caring for my mom and kids) when I had about $600K saved and did not contribute for the next 10 years, but the accumulation continued to grow. Market has jumped considerably this year, but I am now at $1.3M and feel very proud of myself.

DP. I am 53, and my tsp is at 1,870,000. I have contributed the max since I started in 1999, and I’ve been entirely in the C fund the entire time.
Congrats OP. I want to pass $1m! 43 with $850k. Hoping by next year.
