| Anyone try this? Does it work? |
| freckles are beautiful. embrace them. |
| Are you really a grown woman trying to get rid of freckles? Thats pretty pathetic. And way worse if you are trying to get rid of your child's freckles. |
Tried this when I was about 8 after watching the Brady Bunch. Even though I am the youngest of 3 girls, my freckles made me feel a kinship with Jan Anyway, it doesn't work. Still have all my freckes, and more, 30 years later.

I don't have freckles, but really, the OP is pathetic??? You've got issues. That's pretty harsh. |
| Have you tried a cream like Ambi? |
If a grown woman cant just embrace her freckles, I think its pathetic. Its not like they are liver spots. |
Wow, I would love to have you as an intolerant friend. I mean, god forbid I ask you if I should get highlights and you sit me down telling me how dejected my soul is for even thinking about it. |
| Op here. My freckles are from sun exposure/damage. I never had them before a few years ago, and I'd love to return to the way my skin used to look. I'm not proud to feel vain about it, but I'm sure most of us have petty concerns about our appearance, otherwise we probably wouldn't be writing and reading posts on health fitness and beauty. |
| There's a great recipe in Freckle Juice by Judy Blume that might work for you. |
I have some sun damage on my neck, and I got some Palmer's Fade Cream to see if that worked. It does seem to have reduced the redness some (I've only been using it a couple weeks, so I need to see if it continues to work/fade the redness). Maybe something like that is worth a try? |
| You may want to see a dermatologist. Some medicated face creams can fade freckles/moles. Some may have to be removed by knife or laser. I've had a few moles removed via the latter and I am really, really happy with the results. Actually they may be considered freckles, I'm not really sure what the difference is when the spot in question is small and flat. |

I work in cosmetics testing, and there are some "whiteners" that are popular in Asian markets that are supposed to reduce age spots (which are more of a concern among Asian women then wrinkles). They should work on freckles. I believe the marketing phrase that is used for the same product in US markets is something along the lines of evening out your skin tone.
That said, I do love freckles! |
| Not sure about the lemon juice. But you could try using sunscreen religiously and that should help with the freckles. |

Freckle face here. I've tried the lighteners and the stuff that's supposed to help age spots, but I haven't had much success with them. They're pretty pricey, and I think they also take quite a while to actually do anything. I honestly have the most success with applying sunscreen religiously. At least SPF 30 every morning, and then something crazy high if I'm going to be outside a lot. Freckles (well, mine anyway) fade over time, so if I cut off sun exposure, it helps to keep them lighter (they never totally go away, though). But without sunblock, even just the limited amount of time I'm outside (walking to and from home, car, office, etc.), I notice they get a lot darker. FWIW, I've had freckles since I was a kid.
Also, lemon juice does not work, and is drying. (I must have seen that same Brady Bunch episode, because I tried it when I was in middle school, also.) To the OP that said women should learn to embrace freckles ... that's pretty rude. Would you tell someone with acne to embrace it? Should no one dye their hair? Exercise if their only goal in it is to look better in clothes? Get braces? The OP isn't doing any harm to herself or others and if she likes the way she looks without freckles better than with them, why is that so terrible? |
