What age did you allow your kid to go to park/ride bikes with friend?

We just got our daughter a watch phone, and I think now that we have that, we can allow for some more flexibility. At what age would you allow your kid to go to the park or playground or ride bikes with a neighborhood kid, unsupervised? TIA!

We allowed our kids to roam a 4 block radius unsupervised at 9 and then allowed them to wander the neighborhood at 10.5.

I think around 9-10 in the neighborhood. None them had phones or (smart)watches then. Usually they roamed around house to house (usually on bikes) or they would go to playground or fields to play and I just asked them to be home by a certain time.

I think these early years trained them well for self sufficiency later in the early teen years as their groups have always been comfortable riding bikes all over (some friends live 2-3 mi away) and rarely ask for or expect rides when it comes to going to friends, the pool or local shopping center.

9yo. Probably would have waited another year but the pandemic forced the issue.

So much depends on the kid and the friends. We were probably way more protective of our first kid; with her, probably 10/11? Our third was riding around at age 7, but usually with slightly older kids.
